Operation Adoption was one of the visions Pastor Danny Janes had in mind for Liberty Wesleyan Church.  We have just celebrated the 1 year anniversary of Operation Adoption.  Below are the different groups which make of this very important ministry.  If you would like to be a part of any of the ministries please contact the church office at 336-643-6968.

                            Adopt A School

The Adopt a School team is headed up by Mary Fay Todd.  This team serves Stokesdale Elementary School by taking school supplies and snacks for the teachers.  Most teachers spend a great deal of their own money trying to make sure they have everything they need for their classroom.  It's a small task for this team to help out in this area but is so very much appreciated by all of the teachers.  By providing snacks to the teachers and staff this team makes the day so much better for everyone.

                            Adopt A Fire Department

                            Picture
Mike Hudson is in charge of this ministry.  Being a former volunteer fireman, Mike knows how much all of the firemen appreciate the kindness of this team.  Meals are prepared and served to the Bethany Fire Department several times a year.  This gives the firemen a much needed break and we all know how much they love to eat.  This is one way we can show our appreciation for their commitment to our community.

                            Adopt A Neighborhood

                            Picture
This ministry is lead by Autumn Ward.  The community is the backbone of Summerfield and we strive to meet the needs of all in need.  One of the biggest projects this team has taken on is clothing those who are less fortunate than we are.  This has been a real blessing to Liberty Wesleyan Church as we have met the needs of so many families.  In December we hold our annual Community Christmas Dinner.  This meal is provided to everyone in the community at no charge.  Santa normally visits during this meal and talks to all of the children who attend.

                            Adopt A Nursing Home

                            Picture

Evelyn Rierson leads this group.   They visit the residents at Countryside Nursing Home.  The residents love it when this team visits.  They get to sing songs and spend time with people who really care about them and who want to make a difference in their day.  They are also get the chance to enjoy some good snacks and treats.

                            Adopt A Highway

                            Picture
Tom Naylor is the leader of this group.  Keeping the stretch of road clean between Lake Brandt Road and Hwy 220 is broken down in several teams that take a small sections of the road.  This team cleans the Hwy every 3 months.  There is great satisfaction in knowing that we are doing our part to keep our community clean.

                            Adopt A Ministry

                            Picture
Adopt a Ministry is lead by Tanna Janes.  This team serves meals at The Urban Ministry in Greensboro and provides items to the Pregnancy Care Center.  Many people participate in this ministry from the older members to the very young members of Liberty Wesleyan.

                            Adopt A Missions Project

                            Picture
Milton Todd is in charge of this ministry.  This team will participate in mission trips where help is needed.  Mission trips are being planned for the
                            year 2012.
